Strip Show At The Golf Tournament

Yes you read that right! Pro golfer Henrik Stenson took his clothes off in the opening round of the CA Championship golf tournament yesterday. He shot a 69 and was only 4 shots off the lead after his “eventful” round of golf. What exactly happened and were golf fans shocked?

Well, here is the deal. He did not get naked. He did, however, actually strip down to his undershorts. That’s right, took off shirt and pants, all but the the boxer briefs. His tee shot on the 4th hole went astray and he ended up in the edge of a water hazard. So before he waded into the muck, he got natural (almost) as they say.
So he proceeded to strip down and hit the golf shot out of the mud. Why you ask? Well, according to Stenson, one time he had a similar shot and covered himself with mud getting the ball out. And you know that those outfits the pros wear are pretty expensive. But part of it was that he did not have any rain gear with him in his bag. Or at least that is what was reported.
I’m sure much will be written about it both positive and negative. Mickelson, for example, said “I don’t know if I’d do that”. But I think it’s both funny and great. I’ve always said that golfers don’t need to take themselves too seriously and obviously Henrik doesn’t. Or maybe, being that he is from Sweden (like he of the funny golf hat Jesper Parnevik), he just walks to a different beat. Either way, it’s good for a laugh and a little comic news when everything that we hear these days is doom and gloom.

By the way, he stayed fully clothed today and shot a one over to end up tied for 44th after round two. Hmmmm…… he might need a new strategy for moving day tomorrow. Anyway, enjoy a laugh and a round of golf if you can.
