Where did this golf tradition start?

Is a putter with no grip against the rules of golf?

Golf Nut, I had my golf clubs re-gripped and was fooling around with my putter before it was finished and liked it without the grip. I decided to try it out on the golf course the next day and loved it. Someone at the clubhouse said that it was against the rules. Is this true?

Disqualification golf rules for incorrect scorecard

Golf Nut, if a golfer signs an incorrect scorecard, is he disqualified or does the error just affect the hole on which he recorded the wrong score? What do the rules of golf say on this?
